I’ve always been very artistically influenced. Growing up in Richmond, Virginia, an extremely art focused city, has deeply inspired me to constantly be creating and what ultimately led me to Ringling College of Art and Design. I’m often inspired by nature and the fluidity of life as that is a common mentality in my city. This ease and “go with the flow” idea is what has allowed me to explore many different options and paths for myself. I feel very lucky in that I have two passions in life, animation and art history. Through my time at Ringling, I have been able to minor in art history which allows me to draw more inspiration from the greats and classics than I ever have before. With that, I am a huge self-proclaimed “film buff” and often turn to films, good and bad, old and new, in search of inspiration. These often push me to try new things and test the boundaries of what is allowed and what I can do. Thankfully, being an animation major not only allows for this kind of research and study but encourages it. Through my education and hard work, I have received many accolades like having multiple pieces, including my thesis film, be selected for Best of Ringling. I have also been the recipient of many scholarships as well as was a finalist of The Rookies in 2023. For the summer of 2024, I will be a Pixar Animation Intern. I’m so excited to be able to continue to pursue my craft and to do that amongst the extremely talented artists at the studio.’ve always been very artistically influenced.
