Filippo Demarchi

Filippo Demarchi was born in Zurich in 1988. After training as an assistant director at the CLCF in Paris, he studied at the ECAL in Lausanne, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in cinema. In 2015, he completed a master's degree in screenwriting at INSAS in Brussels under the guidance of David Lambert. After studying dance at Paris8 at Master1 level, Filippo Demarchi directed several short and medium-length films, all co-produced by RSI. He has also written and financed a feature-length fiction film produced by Samir (Dschoint Ventschr). Filippo Demarchi has participated in a number of prestigious workshops, including TORINO FILM LAB, FOCAL, ZFF Academy and Groupe Ouest Développement. Since 2014 he has been a member of the short film selection committee of the Castellinaria Film Festival. His short films have been screened and awarded at prestigious Swiss and international festivals. These include Visions du Réel, Journées de Soleure, Winterthur Short Film Festival, GIFF in Geneva, Hof International Film Festival, Palm Springs Short Film Festival, Sao Paolo Short Film Festival, ISFF Rio de Janeiro, Angers Premiers Plans Film Festival, Busan Short Film Festival, FIFF Namur, Odense International Film Festival, Tel-Aviv S. Film Festival, among others. His short film '17 anni' won the RTS Prize at the Geneva GIFF and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize in the category 'Best Short Film'.
