Sergio Morcillo, born in Madrid in 1987, began his career making amateur short films between the ages of 15 and 19, including ‘Bloody Mirrors’ and ‘Don't Stop’. In 2012, he began studying film directing at the Camilo José Cela University and released the short film ‘Tus gritos me dan risa’ (‎2012), which marked a milestone in his career. In 2013, he presented ‘Metamorphose’(‎2013), which ranked 13th out of almost 600 entries in the ‘ABC'S OF DEATH 2’ competition. This short film received more than 50 global selections and was produced by ‘Inside FX’. In 2015, he directed a commercial for the Nocturna festival, paying homage to ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’. In 2016, he made ‘You're gonna die tonight’ (‎2016), sponsored by Miguel Ángel Vivas. His most famous short film, ‘GOTAS’ (‎2017) accumulated more than 140 selections and 32 international awards, including selections at Cannes and Sitges. It was included in the anthology ‘A Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio’. His recent works include ‘La Colleja’(‎2019), a comedy short film, and ‘Abierto en Vena’, a music video for the band ‘Taburete’. He has also collaborated with Warner Music and directed music videos for Luca Caló and Xeinn. In 2024, Morcillo is shooting two new short films: ‘Cabrales’(‎2024) and ‘La Elegida’ (‎2024), which will deal with comedy and social criticism.
