Simone Marino
Simone Marino was born in Rome in 1996. After graduating in philosophy at Università di Roma La Sapienza, works as an intern on the set of Paolo Sorrentino’s “The New Pope” and as casting assistant for Emanuele Crialese’s for “L’immensità”. In 2023 he graduated in Direction at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the National School of Cinema in Italy. During the course, running from 2020 to 2022, he was able to direct some shorts produced by CSC.In 2021 he directed the short movie “Il Dilemma del Porcospino (The Hedgehog’s Dilemma)” presented at Rome International Creative Contest Short Film Festival. In 2022 he was chosen to direct a spaghetti gangster short movie “Il Caso è Chiuso, Andate in Pace (The case is closed, go in peace)”, presented at Torino Film Festival. This one was co-produced with Cam Sugar, they also gave him the chance to use the original music by Ennio Morricone, Franco Micalizzi, Guido&Maurizio De Angelis. During the same year he directed “Houseparty”, which was presented at the Nuovo Cinema Aquila in Rome.His latest short movie “Il Difetto dell’Astice Blu (The Oddity in the Blue Crayfish) is currently being distributed. Campari and CSC chose him to direct the mini-series “Red Rail” which will run as special venue at the 80th Venice Film Festival.
