At the surface, “Gig Work” is a story about what gig work will be like in the future: dangerous, low-paying, and with a complete disregard for human life. It's a commentary on the struggles and challenges facing young people in today's society. From the isolation of COVID-19 to the impact of climate change to the advent of AI, it explores the effects these things will have on our future. However, at its core, it's a story about friendship, survival, and how connection and relationships can still thrive in the worst of places.
