Los Xey was one of the most famous musical groups worldwide. Viewed through today’s eyes, it’s difficult to gauge the musical career and life these Basques enjoyed from their creation in 1940 until they disbanded in 1961. At a time when the radio offered live shows and television had yet to appear, there wasn’t a theatre, cabaret or radio station that didn’t demand their performances. Not only did they triumph in Spain but also in America from Argentina to the US, which they toured for 9 years, even inaugurating the Mexican and Cuban televisions. They left a lasting impression for many generations. In this documentary we will recover their memory in the 21st century accompanied by their modern day counterparts the Golden Apple Quartet.
