A 17 year old boy disembarks in Equatorial Guinea fleeing the Spanish post-war period. Curious, methodical observer and great craftsman, dazzled by Africa, notebook in hand, enters the secret kingdom of the pygmies where he discovers magical birds and giant frogs, confronts the fierce gorillas and meets the elusive chimpanzees.
