Peace of cake explores the complexity and versatility of human nature, emphasizing the exploration and questioning of identity and self-perception.Through a non-linear, fragmented, and polysemy narrative, the work is divided into multiple independent dance segments, each focusing on different characters and scenes, and through a jumping narrative, a complex and diverse story world is constructed. Through the body language and performance of the dancers, the audience will witness the emotions and reactions of the characters in different situations, revealing the deep psychological dynamics and human nature.Using the contingency of postmodernism, the work deeply explores the emotional complexity and diversity brought about by the intersection of dance and image.Dance has become a carrier and symbol of emotion, and video language is rich in metaphors and symbols, which together build a far-reaching visual world. The work pursues ambiguity and uncertainty, encouraging the audience to interpret in a variety of ways, which leads to in-depth reflection on the artistic contingency of Postmodernism. In this visual world full of symbols and metaphors, the audience will think about the relationship between self-perception and reality, and feel the confusion and struggle inside the characters.

REVIEWS:

The metaphors and symbolism are so deep, it’s almost overwhelming. I’ll probably have to watch it a few more times to really grasp everything that’s going on.

Benjamin Lee

I loved the experimental nature of this film. The non-linear narrative and use of dance to convey emotion were so refreshing. It felt like a visual poem — really thought-provoking!

Gaspar Lombardo

I’m not sure I fully understood the story, but the visuals were really captivating! The dancing was beautiful, even though the plot was kind of confusing.

Roxana Oliveira

Participating in this music and dance film festival is undoubtedly a double baptism of senses and thoughts. This film festival screened music and dance video works from all over the world, and each work seamlessly combined the body language of dance with the visual narrative of the film. Those emotional dances bloomed on the screen, no longer limited to the space of the theater stage, but extended to the natural wilderness, the streets of the city, and even the fantasy virtual world. I am very grateful to be selected to participate in this event.
